KANTARA IN MILL VALLEY

It's a Kantara Rugs takeover! Kantara founder Alia Kate will be taking over our Mill Valley shop with her gorgeous, fair trade Moroccan rugs. Join us all day Friday and Saturday to learn more about Kantara's work with women's weaving cooperatives, and to shop a huge selection of handmade rugs in varying sizes, patterns and hues.

KANTARA, meaning "bridge" in Arabic, is deeply committed to fair and ethical trade. Kantara has worked directly with the same weaving cooperatives in rural Morocco since 2008, when it was founded by Alia Kate after falling in love with the art, design, and individual stories that these women weave into each of their unique carpets. Thanks to Kate’s longstanding relationship with these highly skilled Moroccan artisans, Kantara is able to curate and design rugs that both preserve the ancient weaving traditions while adding a modern touch.
