Last week Lauren, Isabel and I traveled to New York City, with designer Rebecca Overmann in tow, for a jewelry industry trade show. On our first day, Isabel and I were able to totally nerd out in the New York Jewelry District while Rebecca and Lauren set up for the trade show (and Lauren discovered a hidden talent for floral arranging).
The trade show, dubbed Melee and started by Lauren and Rebecca, was a great success! We picked up some stunning new things for the ESQUELETO shops from some of our favorite artists, including WWake, Satomi Kawakita and AILI. Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for these gorgeous new items!
It wasn’t all work and no play though: We of course ate all the New York things – bagels, cheesecake, amazing Chinese food, and SO MUCH pizza. On our last day, after a spin around the Javits Center, we were able to squeeze in a quick trip to the Met Museum – my happy place – to catch the Rei Kawakubo retrospective. We perfectly capped off the trip with a visit to Scosha’s adorable Brooklyn store and a cocktail overlooking the Manhattan skyline. See you next year NYC!
