Sarah Swell Jewelry

A Family Affair

Sarah Swell Jewelry We love Sarah’s raw yet luxurious designs that she hand crafts in her Sausalito studio and showroom. Sarah creates some of our all-time favorite styles and best-selling pieces that we carry here at ESQUELETO. This coming weekend, we welcome Sarah Greenberg and her husband and Sarah Swell Jewelry operations manager, Scott, to the Los Angeles store for a trunk show. They’ll be bringing Sarah’s full newly released collection, as well as all the lovely bridal pieces for women and men that we don’t usually have in the shop.

SARAH SWELL JEWELRY TRUNK SHOW Saturday, June 24 from 10am to 6pm and Sunday, June 25 from 11am to 5pm at ESQUELETO los angeles 1298 W Sunset Blvd in Echo Park

I chatted with Scott about his transition from sea ferry captain to working with the family biz full time.
Alexis: You went from captaining the SF Bay ferry to working full-time with your lovely wife at Sarah Swell Jewelry. I remember when Sarah enlisted your help making her most popular (and difficult and time consuming to construct) design, the fishbone earrings. As the business grew, so did your involvement in it. Do you ever miss the salty sea?
Scott: Sometimes I miss my salty days on the bay, but luckily for me I have a great boss lady who allows me to take time away from the studio so I can put in a shift from time to time and get my dose of the sea. Overall though I don't miss it as much as I thought I would. I found a new love in jewelry, and there is nothing as rewarding as helping build a successful business with the most important person in your world. Sarah Swell at ESQUELETO
A: Sarah Swell Jewelry just released a bunch of new designs. What are some of your favorite pieces?
S: S: This past February we were able to release a group of new designs which we are super excited about. Since joining the team one of my major contributions to the business on the production side has been making a large portion of the fishbone pieces. With our newest release we expanded the fishbone collection and started incorporating more gold into the design. My favorite new pieces are the Fishbone Slim Dangles in oxidized silver with the gold spine and tails, and my absolute fav the Fishbone Single Necklace in oxidized silver with gold spine, tails & jump rings. The black and gold combo just can't be beat. A little fun fact is I had the ESQUELETO shops in mind when I suggested this design to Sarah. Sarah Swell Jewelry At ESQUELETOOakland
A: You and Sarah have set up a pretty idyllic life for yourselves up there in Marin. What do you guys like to do in the North Bay outside of work?
S: Our life outside of work is 100% run by our 5 year old Siberian husky Mika. The three of us love beach days along the picturesque Marin coastline and gorgeous hikes through the redwoods and eucalyptus trees of Mt. Tam and the headlands. When I have a day to myself, I like getting out surfing with my buddies or (if I'm lazy) reading in the hammock in front of the apartment. Although we don't get out as much as we would like to, Sarah and I both love to eat and enjoy getting out to the many great restaurants the Bay Area has to offer.
A: Thanks so much for sharing Scott! Can’t wait to see you and Boss Lady this weekend for the Sarah Swell trunk show in L.A.!
