Double Trouble Trunk Shows

October 16, 2018
by Alexis Adams
This weekend we have TWO amazing trunk shows scheduled in both of our locations. The inimitable Polly Wales will be joining us in our Los Angeles shop Saturday + Sunday, and we’ll have the incredible TAP by Todd Pownell collection in our Oakland shop on Saturday. All of the jewelry in the TAP collection is handmade by a team of talented craftspeople creating out of a live/work studio in Ohio. The collection is a celebration of the universal order of the natural world – manifested in metal and stone. Polly Wales has grown a cult following for her signature technique, an unusual process that casts gemstones directly into molten gold to create lush organic forms. Unlike more traditional... We are happy to present a new collection of Celine D’Aoust jewelry! These new designs heavily feature Celine’s signature stone, tourmaline, along with other gorgeous stones including diamonds, opals, and moonstones. Her striking designs have a contemporary feel that fully utilize the arts of metalwork and stone-setting. Real Weddings: Tricia + Niklas

September 17, 2018
by Jessie Zechnowitz
In an idyllic setting along the shores of the Baltic Sea, Tricia and Niklas tied the knot while surrounded by friends and family. Tricia, in true form, wore some incredible custom jewelry from ESQUELETO! Read all about it below! Jessie: We know the wedding was in Sweden, but what was the venue like? Can you give us a little visual description? Tricia: We rented out a secluded boutique hotel in the Stockholm Archipelago, it’s located on the Näcka nature preserve. The hotel faces the brackish waters of the Baltic Sea. The top floor of the hotel is the dining area/dance floor. The bottom floor has hotel rooms, a large sauna, and an outside deck. The style is very Scandinavian: clean,... Read More

Scintillating Sapphires

September 4, 2018
by Jessie Zechnowitz
September babies have sapphire as their birthstone, a gem of wisdom and royalty. These blue beauties are credited as being the gemstone of creative expression, meditation, and inner peace. Sapphires are said to protect their wearers from fraud and treachery, and to ward off illness. According to legend, wearing a gemstone during its appointed birth month heightens its therapeutic and talismanic effects, whether it’s your own birth month or not! So fortunately, we can all benefit from the mystic charms of the sapphire this month (and of course they’re not too shabby to look at either). Sapphires are the second most durable precious gem after diamonds, making them optimal for daily... Read More

In the Galleries

August 27, 2018
by Jessie Zechnowitz
The current offerings in the galleries are ruminations on the structures of our natural world. In L.A., Todd Ryan White employs lush, electric color to render caverns, frondescent landscapes, and the human form. White experiments with modes of framing and layering to create depth and focus the viewer’s attention inward. Over in Oakland, Skye Schuchman pares down all form, eliminating three-dimensional space and connecting the proverbial dots to reveal maps of abstract crystallographic structures. Both artists ponder the power of creation on an organic level, although their manifestations couldn’t be more formally distinctive. Through their eyes we see both the pulsing, vibrant, fecund... NYC + Melee the Show recap

August 20, 2018
by Alexis Adams
Last week some of our crew traveled to NYC for Melee, the fine jewelry trade show founded by our own Lauren Wolf and Rebecca Overmann. At Melee were able to shop with some of our favorite vendors like WWake, Anthony Lent, Talon, AILI, T. Kahres and TenThousandThings – look out for new items coming soon! In between the hard work of managing a trade show, exhibiting the Lauren Wolf Jewelry line, and buying for the ESQUELETO stores, we managed to pack in a lot of fun + food with our fellow designers and NYC friends. We can’t wait to return in February!
