    FIDM alumnus Carrie Vawter hand quilts her one of a kind pillows, blankets, and wall hangings using bleach, indigo, and natural dyes such as black tea. Inspired by ancient mythology, each work by the Oakland-based artist has a cosmic feel, like a small patchwork galaxy.

    Len Carella started working in ceramics in 1998 at the Parsons School of Design in New York, New York, and has since worked out of several studios in New York and San Francisco. With a nod to both traditional Japanese pottery and modern design, Len hand crafts his one of a kind pieces out of porcelain, white stoneware and Black Mountain clay.

    Originally from Vancouver, Michele Quan moved to New York in 1984 to study graphic design and photography at Parsons School of Design. She worked in metal for twelve years and co-founded the New York jewelry company Me&Ro before embarking on her current medium of clay. She recently launched her solo jewelry line, which features rich metals and diamonds in striking, minimal forms. Her mixed media and ceramic work continues an ongoing pursuit to bring visual form to our internal landscape and locate the thread that connects us with the experience of the world in which we live. Michele works out of her studio in Brooklyn and lives in New York with her husband, daughter and dog.

    non-perishable goods is designed and created by Shay Carrillo in her backyard home based studio in Portland, Oregon. npg was born out of a love for textiles, hand-crafted goods, and a desire to make useful products for home, woman & child which reduce disposable consumption, encourage artistic play/expression or remind of us of our ties to traditions and cultures around the world. All products are entirely hand-crafted using only natural fiber materials including linen, wool felt, vintage wool, vintage textiles, recycled cotton/hemp, repurposed denim, leather, cotton and paper.

    As a professional makeup artist, Shawn Burke noticed a lack of design-forward, high-quality bags and pouches to store the tools of her trade. Along with Creative Director Camille Mason, Shawn launched her line of supple leather goods in 2010 to industry acclaim. These colorful and luxurious bags have developed a loyal following both in and outside the makeup industry.
